Why Many Prefer Cremation

Many people choose to have their loved ones cremated and/or choose cremation for their own burial plans. There are a lot of different reasons for people opting to choose cremation. Here are what some of those reasons are.

Affordability reasons – The cost of cremation is much more affordable than the cost of a burial. More people these days are finding it difficult to make ends meet. This has led to a lot of people choosing to save money in just about any way they can, even when it comes to foregoing a traditional burial and instead, going with cremation.

Convenience factors – When it comes to the process of planning for a burial, there are a lot of things that need to be done. A plot must be chosen and purchased, a casket must be chosen and purchased, a funeral home must be enlisted to help, and many other things need to be tended to. However, the process for cremation is much simpler. At a time when people are mourning and have so much on their plate already, going a simpler route can take a lot of added and unnecessary stress off of them.

Visits from loved ones – When someone is buried in a cemetery, those who are close to them will have to go to the cemetery if they wish to visit and pay their respects. Some people will find it hard to relocate when their loved one is in a cemetery because they won't want to leave the area and no longer be able to visit the grave. Cremation allows for the person's ashes to be kept in one or more urns, which can be easily moved with the family. Also, a person's ashes can be put in mobile items, such as in special jewelry pieces, small urns, etc. Families can even place the ashes in several urns, allowing for several family members to keep the loved one with them.

Freedom to be where they want – Some people like the idea of having their ashes spread in a certain spot. The spot is usually a spot the person enjoyed in their lifetime; somewhere they held near and dear to their heart. When someone is cremated, their ashes can be spread in a place where they would like to spend eternity.

Escape being in a casket – For many, the idea of being put in a casket is something that really bothers them. These people generally find cremation to be a much more pleasant idea than spending eternity in a casket underground.
